Just a few notes this update:
1. Scholastic orders are due tomorrow Wednesday March 2nd
2. Our first official class trip was a success! Andrea, our instructor for the day, was truly impressed by both the students knowledge and behaviour as well at how kind and helpful our group of adults were. I wanted to send a shout out to Mrs. Galberg, Mr. Basic, and Mrs. Grimm for there undivided attention for the day and all their help. I could tell throughout the day that all children were having fun and really living in the moment of the experience. I hope they were able to share some of their experiences from the day with everyone at home. Their artwork will be trickling into your house over the next few days, except for a few who will have their artwork displayed in the school before sending it home. I hope to have pictures up on the blog from this last month of learning by early next week.
3. February was Black History Month as well as Fairness month. We had a few class discussions around why we acknolwegde these two things together and touched a bit on the history of unfairness and bullying between people with white skin and black skin. I am extremely proud of how the students of room 4 take on the responsiblity of treating each other as well as others outside of the classroom fairly. Focussing on the way they treat each other and the ways they act rather than judging each other by the way they look. In order to encourage the learning of Black History each day brought about a new questions based on the posters you may have seen throughout our school hallways. If your class handed in a ballot with the correct answer their ballot was entered into the draw to win a prize from Mrs. Shaw (grade 2). Excitingly our class was announced today on the morning announcements as the winners of the draw!!!!! Mrs. Shaw will be coming down to our classroom to discuss our prize with us this week. Congratulations to all the students of room 4 for their excellent listening and reading skills.
