March Break Update
Hello All! I am sure you have all heard or will now check your email for the notice that went home about Mrs. Cherevaty coming back to finish out the school year with this class. Thursday March 24th will be my last day with this group. I must say that it has been an honour to get to know all the students of room four and to be a part of their learning process and transition into grade one. I have been able to watch each and every one of them as they flourish into bright young eager learners. Although we may have our struggles and tough times I truly believe in each and every one of them and cannot believe I get to witness their intelligence and creativity on a daily basis. I will miss seeing their bright and beautiful faces each day so very much. I hope to continue to see them every now and then as I pop in to supply for teachers throughout the school, but even if I find something else at another school to finish out the year I will forever remember this group of students. Our year has been very unique as we began our journey in grade one together. I could not have asked for a better way to start off my teaching career and I am so grateful to Mrs. Phillippe, the teachers at Rosethorn, and especially all of you for making me feel so welcome and supported always.
Please remember that this Friday March 11th we will be receiving our free pizza lunch for winning the Black History Month Trivia Game. All pizza forms need to be returned ASAP so we can get our order in.
Friday afternoon begins our March Break. I will be sending homework for the week off, it is optional. For students who did not finish their booklets at Winter Break I will be sending that home to continue and finish up. For those who did finish those booklets I will send home a small new assignment. Again, it is optional but I encourage its use to keep your child in the routine of doing school work and to challenge their mind.
In regards to our weekly homework: Monday Spelling activities and Weekend Shared Reading. Although, this is extra practice work I have found over the last month students forgetting it often, not completing it, and returning late. If possible please try to stick to the Spelling due on Fridays and Shared Reading due on Monday’s routine as it allows me the time I need to look over it and prepare it for the following hand out time. It also prevents folders and work from getting lost. Remember your children are very responsible, packing their folders and doing their homework should be up to them. Thank you
Ms. Guenther
